Pipe Corona
Pipe Corona provides surface activation in the pipe production line, improving the quality of adhesion, coating, printing and other surface treatments. Corona Treatment in pipe production lines is applied to increase the surface energy of plastic and polymer-based pipes and improve their surface properties. Pipe Corona systems apply corona treatment to the pipe surface, especially for the following reasons:
1) Increasing Adhesion Strength:
If printing, labeling or coating is to be applied to the pipe surface, the surface must be able to hold the ink, paint or adhesive well.
Corona treatment increases the surface energy of the pipe, allowing better adhesion of coatings, paints and labels.
2) Surface Preparation for Lamination and Coating Processes:
If protective coating, metal coating or lamination is to be applied to the pipes, the surface must be suitable for these processes.
Corona treatment prevents the coating from peeling or cracking by making the surface rougher and more receptive.
3) Pipe Surface Cleaning and Activation:
During the production process, oil, dust and production residues may form on the pipe surface.
Corona treatment cleans the surface at a microscopic level, making it more reactive and creating ideal surface conditions for subsequent processes.
